CHEESECAKE ENERGY

Category: Start-Up

For commercial and industrial customers looking to decarbonise, CEL’s modular compressed air energy storage turns intermittent renewables into on-demand power.
Built from proven industrial hardware, CEL’s system is robust, durable and sustainable. The extensive use of second-life hardware, such as repurposed truck engines means that embodied energy can be 65% lower than Li-ion, while lasting for more than twice as long. The system uses only readily available materials and can be built in existing supply chains, helping to drive a fair transition for skilled automotive and oil and gas workforces.

ZENOBĒ

Category: Changemaker

Zenobē’s mission is to make clean power accessible. We do that in 3 ways: by maximising the uptake of renewables using battery storage, by accelerating fleet electrification with bespoke services for operators and by using second-life batteries to replace diesel generators and support on-site renewables.
To make a big impact you need to do things at scale. We currently support over 1,200 EVs electric vehicles globally, have 735MW of live or in-build battery storage projects, with an aim to commission 2.5GW of storage in the UK by 2028.
